Testing is an important way for us to measure how our students are learning and growing, and to ensure our school is providing students with what they need to be successful.
Students at Columbus may take a variety of tests. The two most common tests - which are taken by the majority of our students - are the Minnesota Comprehensive Assessments-II (MCA-IIs) and Northwest Evaluation Association (NWEA) Measures of Academic Performance.
On every MCA II test report is the student Learning Locator code. The goal of Learning Locator is to provide teachers, parents and students with resources that are SPECIFICALLY aligned to the student's performance on the measured standards. The Learning Locator is designed to provide targeted practice on specific standards in order for students to meet achievement criteria for their existing achievement level, and to move to the next achievement level.
